Loctite 290 high strength threadlocker wicking grade adhesive is used to seal and lock threaded fasteners. Additional applications include filling porosity in castings, powered metal parts and welds. The capillary action and low viscosity of this anaerobic sealant allow it to wick between threads, preventing corrosion and rust. Loctite 290 threadlocker is for pre-assembled bolts up to .5” and requires a maximum temperature of 300 degrees (and hand tools) for disassembly. This product meets the military specification MIL-S-46163A.
Loctite 290 threadlocker has a fixture time of 20 minutes, and cures fully in 24 hours. This sealant prevents loosening and leaking that can occur with repeated oscillation or shock.
